Gary Tse is a clinician-scientist with training in physiology, medicine, cardiac electrophysiology, public health and healthcare management. He obtained his PhD in July 2015 and was appointed Assistant Professor in Biomedical Sciences, Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong in August 2015. In 2016, he took up The Croucher Foundation Clinical Assistant Professorship at the Faculty of Medicine of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is a Principal Investigator at the Li Ka Shing Institute of Health Sciences. In 2018, he was appointed Guest Professorship of The First Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University. He has delivered lectures as Visiting Professor at The Second Affiliated Hospital of Tianjin Medical University.
Prof. Tse has attracted HK$10.6 million funding as a principal and co-applicant. He has supervised over 75 students for medical research, publishing >190 publications (95 as (co-)first/(co-)corresponding; h-index: 25).
He has been elected a Fellow of the Cambridge Philosophical Society, Linnean Society of London, Institute of Biomedical Sciences, Royal Society of Public Health, Academy of Medical Educators, Academy of Translational Medicine Professionals, American College of Epidemiology, European Society of Cardiology, American College of Cardiology, Heart Rhythm Society, Royal College of Physicians of Glasgow and Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh.
