The Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI) is the leading nonprofit medical society representing invasive and interventional cardiology. For more than 40 years, SCAI has personified professional excellence and innovation globally, fostering a trusted community of more than 4,500 members dedicated to medical advancement and lifesaving care for adults and children with cardiovascular disease.
By accessing or using any of the internet properties owned and/or operated by the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, Inc. or its affiliated entities (collectively, "SCAI" or “scai.org,” “My.SCAI.org” or "we" or "us" or "our," Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions Association, Inc., or SCAI Political Action Committee), including, without limitation: https://my.scai.org, www.scai.org, and each sub-domain associated with these URLs) and other websites, mobile websites, microsites, mobile applications, social media sites, discussion groups, and any other digital services and platforms officially operated by or for SCAI (each, a "Site" and collectively, the "Sites"), you agree to comply with and be bound by this Terms of Service Agreement ("TOS").
IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THIS TOS, YOU MUST IMMEDIATELY TERMINATE USE OF THIS SITE.
SCAI reserves the right to revise this TOS at any time by posting a revised TOS to the Sites, and without further notice directly to you. Your use of these Sites constitutes your acceptance of the TOS posted at the time of your use.
- USE OF SITE(S)
The use of the Site(s) and the information contained herein are not intended or designed to provide medical diagnosis, medical advice or medical treatment and must be considered as an educational service only. Medical conditions and medical advice change on a person-to-person basis and can change based upon the facts and circumstances at hand, the information available, and the medical equipment and personnel involved. The information contained herein does not and is not intended to, constitute comprehensive professional medical services, diagnosis or treatment of any kind.
- PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AND ADVICE
No information posted or sent through e-mail or other electronic means herein should be relied upon as a medical consultation. As with other areas of SCAI professional education activities, you are expected to validate the content you post, such that any recommendations you make involving clinical care or clinical medicine be based on evidence accepted within the profession of medicine as adequate justification for their indications and contradictions in the care of patients; and that all scientific research referred to or reported in support or justification of a patient care recommendation conforms to generally accepted standards of experimental design, data collection, and analysis. SCAI does not recommend or endorse specific tests, physicians, products, services, procedures, opinions or other information that you may obtain on the Site(s). Reliance on any information provided herein is solely at your own risk.
- COPYRIGHTS AND TRADEMARKS
You should assume that everything you see or read on the Site(s) are copyrighted and may not be used except as provided in these Terms of Service, the text on the Site(s) or the express written permission, in advance, of SCAI. SCAI hereby grants to you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license for the term hereof to access and download, display and print one copy of the content and functionality displayed on the Site(s) on any single computer solely for your internal, business use, provided that you do not modify its Content in any way and that you retain all copyright and other proprietary notices displayed on the Site(s) Content. You may not otherwise reproduce, modify, copy, distribute, transmit, post or disclose the Content of the Site(s) without SCAI’s prior written consent.
- LIABILITY, WARRANTIES, AND DISCLAIMERS
The content and functionality on the Site(s) are provided with the understanding that SCAI is not herein engaged in rendering professional advice and services to you. SCAI has no control and makes no warranties or representations as to the accuracy, timeliness, suitability or any other aspect of the information located on such servers, and neither monitors nor endorses such servers or content. The Site(s) may contain advertising and sponsorship materials. SCAI does not warrant, guarantee, or endorse any services or products offered by or through the Site(s) or its links. You should exercise your own discretion, care, due diligence and sound judgment when there is any reference to offers, services or products. Neither SCAI, nor its representatives, members, directors, officers, employees, designees, affiliates, agents and assigns warrant that use of the Site(s) or the information contained herein shall be uninterrupted, virus-free or error-free, nor is the accuracy or reliability of the functionality, content and information contained herein warranted. SCAI neither endorses nor is responsible for the accuracy or reliability of any opinion, advice or statement herein. The Site(s) and information contained or posted herein may not have been updated or checked for accuracy, and it may contain errors, omissions or exclusions. You expressly agree that the use of the Site(s) is at your sole risk and you assume any all risks from its use.
- CHOICE OF LAW AND JURISDICTION
The Site(s) contents are governed by the laws of the District of Columbia in the United States, and any claims arising directly or indirectly out of any materials contained on the Site(s) are subject to these same laws, and any dispute arising there from shall be resolved exclusively in the District of Columbia or federal courts. You hereby consent and submit to the personal jurisdiction of such courts for the purposes of litigating any such action and agree to waive any right to trial by jury in such action.
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless SCAI, its representatives, members, directors, officers, employees, designees, affiliates, agents and assigns from and against any and all injuries, claims, causes of action, loss damage and/or expense (including attorney’s fees) arising out of the reliance upon or the use of this Site(s) or the information contained herein.
- MEDICAL LOCATOR TOOL
From time to time, SCAI provides the use of the medical professional locator tool. When offered, it is to be treated as a general reference tool. It is not intended to and does not constitute a recommendation by SCAI of said medical professional or their skills and is merely for informational purposes. You are strongly urged to personally meet with any prospective medical provider and use your own judgment in selecting any such medical provider.
- DISCUSSION GROUP USERS
Discussion group users, in addition to the above TOS, agree that the content and functionality on the Site(s) are provided with the understanding that neither you nor SCAI is herein engaged in rendering professional advice, consultation, diagnosis, treatment and services to you, your patients, or your colleagues. In addition, you agree:
- that SCAI and the participating members shall not be liable to you, your institution or your patients for any liability, loss, or damage whatsoever that may arise from your use of any discussion group or the information exchanged herein;
- that you are solely responsible for the proper medical advice, diagnosis, and treatment of your patients;
- that providing or accepting compensation or reimbursement for professional advice, consultation or services, and for any other reason, is strictly prohibited;
- to hold harmless, subject to limitations imposed under applicable state or federal laws, SCAI, each participating member, and each participating member's institution in connection with any legal action that may arise, directly or indirectly, from your use of a discussion group;
- not to use any information or permit use of any information obtained through your use of a discussion group in connection with any legal action against SCAI, the participating members, or their respective institutions;
- not to use the discussion group to promote anti-competitive activities or to act in restraint of trade or commerce and refrain from any discussion which may provide the basis for an inference that SCAI members agreed to take any action relating to prices, services, production, allocation of markets, or any other matter having a market.
- EFFECTIVE DATE
THE TERMS OF SERVICE DESCRIBED ABOVE IS EFFECTIVE AS OF MAY 2021.
